Providence Twestival is quickly approaching and we are now offering the opportunity to sponsor this awesome local event for a price that is reasonable for both small and large businesses.

Rhode Island Community Food Bank will be Providence Twestival's Charitable Recipient for this year's Twestival Local event. The primary mission of the Rhode Island Community Food Bank is to acquire and distribute food to people at risk for hunger.

Currently, hunger in Rhode Island is at its highest level in more than a decade, and an average of 55,000 people seek food assistance through the Food Bank’s statewide network of Member Agency programs each month. This represents a 45 percent increase over just two years ago. The funds raised through the 2011 Providence Twestival will be used to help the Food Bank acquire and distribute additional food to meet the growing demand.

Providence Twestival is proud to partner with this excellent organization to generate awareness locally about the hunger issues in Rhode Island and use our social influence to raise money for the Food Bank's local work.

Want to show your support? Donate now on our FirstGiving fundraising page. All funds raised on this platform will go directly to the Food Bank. You can also show your support by purchasing a ticket for $10 to attend our Providence Twestival event on March 24th at 5:30 PM at the Italo-American Club of Rhode Island. All ticket proceeds will benefit the Food Bank.

After a short hiatus, the Providence Twestival Organizing Team is back in full swing and we are checking to-dos off our list pretty quickly!

Italo-American Club has generously offered to host our local Twestival and Barrington Printing is chipping in for free appetizers. With the great drinks and eats from Spirito's Restaurant, it is sure to be a fun night.

We will be announcing our charitable recipient on March 11 and a ticket link should be available shortly. Tickets will be $10 (but you're welcome to donate more) and all proceeds will benefit a local Providence charity.

As our local social media community continues to grow we are excited to make our mark on the global Twestival event! This year Twestival is going local, focusing on mobilizing communities to make an impact on the charities that make their communities thrive.

We are in the initial planning phases for the Providence Twestival event and need some support in the following areas:

• A generous venue that can accommodate around 100 people
• Food and drinks
• Sponsors (We give as good as we get! Pitch in and we'll be sure you get your investment's worth!)
